Kim Basinger Ordered to Court

Actress Kim Basinger has been ordered to appear in court to explain why she allegedly disobeyed judge's orders over visitation rights for daughter Ireland.

Court papers allege that in 2005 the actress, 52, failed to tell ex-husband Alec Baldwin she was working away from home, so he could care for their child.

Basinger's lawyer told the Associated Press that the charges were "nothing more than continued harrassment".

She has been ordered to appear in Los Angeles Superior Court on 4 October.

Court papers, filed by Baldwin, also claim there was an occasion when the Oscar-winning actress failed to inform her ex-husband that 10-year-old Ireland was injured and needed medical assistance.
