Laws..? We Don't Need No Stinking Laws!

Illegal immigrants take to the streets on Monday, "Uno de Mayo", in a "walk out" to demonstrate their value to American society and in support of their cutting in line for a quick amnesty. Cutting ahead of other law abiding would be American citizens from many nations who wait patiently on line to receive their green cards, respecting our laws in the process. Why should anyone here be surprised by this sense of instant entitlement? Illegal immigrants have learned well how to play the squeaky wheel fiddle while living here in the U.S. Not to mention their power seeking anti-American anti-U.S. government "leadership" who are positioning their "oppressed and maligned" as a voting block should they be granted immunity. They are even re-writting our National Anthem! That's just good old fashioned American creativity!

Don't be fooled by the rhetoric, illegal aliens do take away potential jobs from the LEGAL AMERICAN POOR in this country. The "non-indentured servitude" employers and the illegals both need to be held accountable for breaking the law, and at the very least get on line and apply for a green card behind those who are registered and respect the law. Without the rule of law, there IS NO SOCIETY.

Meanwhile, south of border, the nefarious Mexican legislature makes possession of Heroin, Cocaine and Marijuana legal at the individual level. Gee... we wonder how long it will be before Mexican illegals will take to the streets demanding equal protection under our U.S. law for their Mexican right to shoot up dope?? If this isn't a sound reason for significantly increasing border patrol jobs (jobs that could go to those LEGAL poor folk we mentioned) while building a state of the art patrolled barrier between Mexico and the U.S., we don't know what is! Crank up legal local militias, customs, law enforcement and position the National Guard and select military along the border to enforce both our drug laws and our immigration laws! If we can invade Iraq with our "projection of power", we are certainly capable as a nation of protecting our own borders! Washington law-makers instead are much too busy trying to figure out how to capitalize on, and win the Latino vote, rather than funding and supporting the rule of law!

But then again... The songs of entitlement as usual echo in the background, as Senators and Congressmen sit around their legislative campfires immersed in the fragrance of their own flatulence. All the while the demonstrators chant:
"Laws? We don't need no stinking laws!" -- cr. Mel Brooks / Blazing Saddles

Cops to Greet Alien Rallies with Civil Disobedience

(WASHINGTON)(2006-04-28) — As May 1st draws near and America prepares for the hardship and suffering of “A Day without Illegal Immigrants”, the Justice Department announced today plans to mark the protest movement with its own act of civil disobedience.

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said he’ll encourage federal, state and local law enforcement on Monday to respond to illegal immigration rallies by observing “A Day without Miranda Rights” followed by “A Month without Habeas Corpus” and “A Year without Bail.”" -- Reported by Satirist Scott Ott
As "Uno de Mayo" approaches don't expect to see any major confrontations. The leftist leadership of these rallies expect to fully drape themselves in the shroud of the 1st Amendment. Afterall... when in Rome, do as the Romans do... Rumor has it that on June 1st we may see the first Disposessed Insurgent Freedom Day where we welcome the former misled Iraqi insurgents ( errr... reformed freedom fighters) to the U.S. if in exchange they promise to sign up for a green card. Afterall... insurgents are people too!

Iran says "Does not give a damn" about UN

(TEHRAN) Iran's president said on Friday his country would pay no attention to international calls to halt its nuclear work, hours before the U.N. atomic watchdog reports on whether Tehran has met U.N. Security Council demands.

'Those who want to prevent Iranians from obtaining their right, should know that we do not give a damn about such resolutions,' Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a rally in northwest Iran, the official IRNA news agency reported." More...Any doubt now where this is headed??

President Bush, like his Vice President Dick Cheney, is not very good at hitting his target. The distance between Baghdad and Tehran is about 710 kilometers. Time to adjust for windage and try again...

NYC Graffiti Law Violates Free Speech

If this don't beat all. Talk about a sense of entitlement! How about arguing in court that artists are entitled to deface public buildings in the name of free speech? The court argument, violation of 1st Amendment free speech rights. Only in America! We suspect some of these very same folks who love their freedom of expression in the U.S. are also protesting the very government and authority figures who support doing whatever it takes to preserve those freedoms. I suggest these would be "artists" spend some time in Singapore and go prepared with copious amounts of skin salve to soothe the welts they will receive on their backs as they publish their "art" internationally.
(NEW YORK) - Seven young artists on Tuesday sued New York City over its strict anti-graffiti law, saying it violated their constitutional right to free speech.

The group, backed by fashion designer Mark Ecko, argued in federal court that the city went too far by banning people under 21 from possessing spray paint or broad-tipped markers.

Gabriel Taussig, a lawyer for New York City, said the law 'strikes a proper constitutional balance between the First Amendment rights (to free speech) and the need to control the long-standing plague of graffiti.'

The law took effect at the start of the year.

City Councilman Peter Vallone, who sponsored the law and has sparred with Ecko over the issue, accused the designer of hiding behind free speech rights to promote his video game and brand name.

The city says its aggressive police tactics, which combat even minor vandalism to send a message that no law-breaking will be tolerated, have helped dramatically lower crime.

Vallone wants to permanently erase the image of New York in the 1970s and 1980s, when graffiti, much of it obscene, covered subway cars and many buildings." More...
While we agree some of it (<3%) is visually very creative (usually sanctioned commisioned work and authorized), the majority is property destruction and vandalism plain and simple. NYC has been much more appealing to the eyes these past few years without "un-authorized" graffiti. Another example of the entitlement culture out of control!

Iran May Quit Nuclear Treaty

Any doubt the world will be at war with this raving lunatic in less than 2 years? If not sooner? Time is running out, the Security Council needs to act. (LOL)
(TEHRAN) "Iran's president has hinted that his nation was considering withdrawing from the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and predicted the UN Security Council would not impose sanctions on Tehran.

'Those who speak about sanctions would be damaged more (than Iran),' Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a news conference on Monday.

'But no particular event will happen, don't worry.'

In wide-ranging remarks, Ahmadinejad maintained his opposition to Israel, calling it an artificial state that could not continue to exist.

Ahmadinejad said Iran would reconsider its compliance with NPT and membership of the International Atomic Energy Agency if they continued to be of no benefit to the country.

'What has more than 30 years of membership in the agency given us?' he asked.

The agency, a UN body, has accused Iran of failing to answer questions about its nuclear programme and reported the country to the Security Council for non-compliance" More (Al Jazeera)...

What's In a Name?

Seems like Tom Cruise is really off his rocker. The folks in Israel are not only scratching their heads on the name he gave his newborn but wondering what he will do next for some PR. Bad enough Maddona decided to become a "Jewish Mystic" but now Mr. Scientology?
(JERUSALEM) - Suri, the name chosen by Hollywood couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes for their newborn daughter, is raising more than its share of interest in Israel.

It means 'get out of here' in the local language, Hebrew.

News of the naming puzzled even those Israelis who thought they had seen it all after pop diva Madonna turned the ancient Jewish mystical tradition Kabbalah into a faith for the famous.

'I really don't know what they were thinking when they chose this name. It's a term that denotes expulsion, like 'Get out of here',' said Gideon Goldenberg, a linguistics professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. 'It's pretty blunt.'

Yaron London, a cultural commentator for Israel's Channel 10 television, had this rhetorical question for Suri's proud parents: 'Why didn't you just go back to your ancestors' language, and call the kid 'Scram Cruise'?'" More...

Terrorist Attacks in Eqypt

So once again we see the senseless loss of human life spawned by the sinister evil incarnate which roams silently amongst us to do harm to the innocent! The evil? Religious fanatics of all persuasions egged on by their "religious" leaders or more correctly their "not so religious leaders".
CAIRO (Reuters) - Three explosions shook the Egyptian Sinai resort of Dahab on Monday and smoke could be seen rising from the town's tourist bazaar, witnesses said.

Residents said they saw body parts and debris on the street after an explosion at a restaurant. Media reports spoke of at least 100 dead and injured.

'There is smoke coming from the area and there are people running everywhere,' said the witness, who did not want to be named. The explosions were heard about 7:15 p.m. local time (1315 EDT) on Monday, part of a five-day spring holiday in Egypt, the witness said.

A interior ministry official confirmed there had been explosions but said he had no further information. 'There were explosions but the picture is still not clear,' he said.

Body parts and debris were seen in the streets after an explosion in a tourist restaurant, other residents said. One visitor said cars and buses leaving the resort were being stopped by police."

Military Bloggers Back and Buck Rumsfeld

(WASHINGTON) -- The war of words between Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and former generals has spread to the lower ranks as soldiers, recent war vets, and Pentagon civilians alike use a growing number of Web logs on the Internet to sound off on their current and former bosses.

Many who run the independent sites, which tend to defend the Iraq war against criticism by politicians and media, are backing Rumsfeld, while some bloggers, most writing under assumed names, have joined the call for a fresh start.

One widely accessible site operated by those still in uniform, the ''Countercolumn' at iraqnow.blogspot.com, has awarded one of the retired generals a ''that-was-then-this-is-now' award for criticizing the invasion even though he had previously said Iraq was a danger to the United States.
The site, which serves as a portal for other military blogs such as ''American Citizen Soldier,' ''BlackFive,' as well as official military websites, also links to a ''Let's Get Rummy' timeline dating back to 2003 -- an obvious slap at opponents who have called for his removal before but have failed.
Soldiers can be dismissed or sentenced to one year in prison for uttering ''contemptuous words' about the commander in chief and other government leaders, but there is no penalty for criticizing them. Still, public criticism is unusual in the military.

But in the relative safety of anonymity, some military bloggers have fanned the controversy swirling around their civilian bosses. One man, describing himself as a helicopter pilot, ''Outlaw 13," who posts on guidons.blogspot.com, wrote that ''a lot of folks in the head shed have heartburn with" Rumsfeld.

Bush has his handsful with Rummy. Seems like at least some of the grassroots military bloggers feel they need a change at the top. Read their sites and express your opinion...

Rush Limbaugh Next Press Secretary

(WASHINGTON) — Nationally-syndicated radio talkshow host Rush Limbaugh
today downplayed rumors that he’s in the running to replace White House Press
Secretary Scott McClellan, who announced his resignation today.

“I could never afford the pay cut,” said Mr. Limbaugh. “Although I’m confident that I
could answer questions from the White House press corps with half my brain tied
behind my back.”

“I could deal with Helen Thomas while blindfolded,” he
added. “In fact, the blindfold would be a non-negotiable condition of my
employment.” -- Scott Ott / ScrappleFace

You gotta love this guy's sense of humor. Scott, speaking blindfolded to Helen Thomas is being kind. "Rush" might also consider a pair of shooting range ear plugs in order to remain OSHA compliant.

Cat in Germany Saves Baby's Life

(BERLIN) "A cat saved the life of a newborn baby abandoned on the doorstep of a Cologne house in the middle of the night by meowing loudly until someone woke up, a police spokesman said on Saturday.

'The cat is a hero,' Cologne police spokesman Uwe Beier said. 'Its loud meowing got the attention of the homeowner and saved the baby from suffering life-threatening hypothermia. The homeowner opened door to see why the cat was making so much noise and discovered the newborn.'

Beier said the boy was taken to hospital at 5 a.m. on Thursday, when overnight temperatures fell towards zero, and had suffered only mild hypothermia. He said there was no indication of what happened to the boy's mother."

In a related story:

(KENMORE, Wash.) - This cat provided a very welcome wake-up call. Arwin was able to rouse her owner, Jaclyn Lane, about 4 a.m. Wednesday after their house caught fire.

Lane said when she woke up, she looked out her window and saw an orange glow. Lane, her mother and her mother's boyfriend were able to get out of the house safely, along with their alarm cat.

The fire burned through the back of the house, and into the kitchen and attic before firefighters were able to extinguish it. Northshore Fire spokeswoman Terri Jones said some of the family's other pets died in the fire.

Should there be a National Cat Holiday?

Cell Division Rewind Button Found

(OKLAHOMA) "Scientists have found a way to reverse the process of cell division, previously thought to be unstoppable.

The finding by US researchers could have important implications for cancer, which is caused by cells dividing uncontrollably.

Writing in Nature, the team explained how controlling a key protein can interrupt the process.

UK experts on cancer cell behaviour said the research aided understanding of how cells should divide.

Cell division occurs millions of times each day in the human body.

Each time, the cell is supposed to be in the prime of health - so any DNA damage has to be repaired first - and the 46 pairs of chromosomes in the cell have to be divided equally between its 'daughters'." More...

Immigration Counterprotest Draws Millions to Job Sites

— In a grassroots counterprotest against yesterday’s nationwide rallies by illegal aliens, today millions of documented U.S. citizens took to their desks, factories, shops and other job sites to demonstrate their commitment to U.S. law and the American work ethic.

Police estimated that the crowds exceeded 220 million people, but they reported no incidents of violence.

Many workplaces flew the American flag, as usual, to express their ongoing devotion to the values and freedoms for which generations of U.S. troops have fought and died.

One unnamed American, a former Mexican who immigrated legally and became a U.S. citizen last year, said he joined the counter-demonstration because he admires the so-called “can-do attitude” he has found in his new home country.

The former-Mexican, who requested anonymity out of humility, said, “It’s as if Americans go to work every day and demonstrate ‘Si, se puede’ — ‘Yes, we can’.”

However, an organizer of yesterday’s illegal alien rallies said today’s counterprotests just highlight the weakness of the opposition to the new civil rights movement.

“It’s pathetic,” said the unnamed spokesman for Somos America (which, in a foreign language, means ‘We are America’).

“No chanting, no banners, no Latino music, no crowds blocking traffic,” she said, “Just millions of Americans quietly doing their jobs. All they do is work and vote. What kind of impact do they expect that to make?”" -- Scott Ott / ScrappleFace

Aljazeera.Net - Israeli action 'is declaration of war'

(PALESTINE) "In a statement issued soon afterwards in Ramallah, Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, accused Israel of breaking international law.

The Palestinian leader called on other countries to end the 'unfair' treatment of his people.

Abbas said the Israeli position 'completely violates the agreements we have signed with them and violates international law' and demanded that Israel end such measures.

'We say to the Israeli government that we are a peaceful nation but we want our rights,' he said.

Speaking in Gaza, Sami Abu Zhuri, a Hamas spokesman, described Israel's decision as 'a failed attempt to cause internal divisions among Palestinians'.

Gaza killing

The Israeli government announced on Sunday that it would cut all contacts with the PA except Abbas - but ruled out full peace talks with him.

The new policy came into immediate effect and a joint Israeli-Palestinian security co-ordination office in Jericho was closed on Monday.

A four-year-old Palestinian girl was killed and 12 others were injured during continued Israeli shelling of the Gaza Strip on Monday.

An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed that artillery shells had been fired at the area of Beit Lahiya in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, although she did not have details of the specific incident.

'We are very sorry for any innocents who are hurt, but these areas and the courtyards of some of these homes are often used to fire rockets at Israel,' she said."
Not always the most objective of new outlets, Aljazeera ran the story above today. We believe it will be just a matter of time before the Palestinian "government" collapses, and there will be two civil wars raging in the region. Look to Iran to provide complete support to Hamas as the duly elected government while Abbas looses power within Palestine.

Bush Planning Nuclear Strike on Iran's Secret Sites?

(LONDON / Telegraph News) "The attention given to the nuclear option has created serious misgivings among the joint chiefs of staff, and some officers have talked about resigning, Hersh has been told. The military chiefs sought to remove the nuclear option from the evolving war plans for Iran, without success, a former senior intelligence officer said.

The Pentagon consultant on the war on terror confirmed that some in the administration were looking seriously at this option, which he linked to a resurgence of interest in tactical nuclear weapons among defence department political appointees.

The election of Mr Ahmedinejad last year, has hardened attitudes within the Bush Administration. The Iranian president has said that Israel should be 'wiped off the map'. He has drafted in former fellow Revolutionary Guards commanders to run the nuclear programme, in further signs that he is preparing to back his threats with action.

Mr Bush and others in the White House view him as a potential Adolf Hitler, a former senior intelligence official told Hersh. 'That's the name they're using. They say, 'Will Iran get a strategic weapon and threaten another world war?' '

Despite America's public commitment to diplomacy, there is a growing belief in Washington that the only solution to the crisis is regime change. A senior Pentagon consultant said that Mr Bush believes that he must do 'what no Democrat or Republican, if elected in the future, would have the courage to do,' and 'that saving Iran is going to be his legacy'.

Publicly, the US insists it remains committed to diplomacy to solve the crisis. But with Russia apparently intent on vetoing any threat of punitive action at the UN, the Bush administration is also planning for unilateral military action. Hersh repeated his claims that the US has intensified" --- Via Drudge Report

Risk of human flu outbreak 'low'

(LONDON) "The chances of bird flu virus mutating into a form that spreads between humans are 'very low', the government's chief scientific adviser has said.

Sir David King said any suggestion a global flu pandemic in humans was inevitable was 'totally misleading'. No more wild birds have tested positive for the deadly H5N1 strain since a case was found in a swan in Fife last week.

Experts are still testing birds found near Cellardyke, and a UK helpline has had thousands of reports of dead birds. Speaking for the first time about the case, Scotland's first minister Jack McConnell has defended the response, saying it had been 'fast, effective and well coordinated'.

Two newspapers have printed details of government plans to cope in the event of a human pandemic. They include a leaked letter from Chief Medical Officer Sir Liam Donaldson to Schools Minister Jacqui Smith - published in the Sunday Times - in which he suggested an estimated death toll among school children of 100,000 could be halved with school closures.

But a health spokesman said: 'This is still a disease of birds, not humans.'One swan doesn't mean [bird flu] has arrived here Sir David King

These sentiments were echoed by John Oxford, a professor of virology at Queen Mary's School of Medicine, in London. He told BBC Radio Five Live: 'We're not expecting a human case from this swan - nor are we really expecting human cases from chickens.'"

Speech Mistake Prompts Bush Do-Over

Scary as hell....
(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) - Cameras were rolling. Microphones were on.
President Bush stepped up to comment on a Senate compromise on immigration legislation.

"Wait. Was it energy or immigration?"

Maybe Bush had rising gas prices on his mind when he said he was pleased that Republicans and Democrats were working together to get a bipartisan, comprehensive 'energy' bill.

Realizing his mistake, he stopped and called for a Take 2.

'Let me start over,' Bush said, standing next to Air Force One.

Bush, often the first to admit that he's not a great orator, got it right the second time.

'I'm pleased that Republicans and Democrats in the United States Senate are working together to get a comprehensive `immigration' bill,' Bush said. 'I want to thank the efforts of those involved in the process. ...'"

This guy has his hand on the red button mind you! One has to wonder if he is on the sauce again.

Wizbang: Explosively Unique...: "Today we have three media mess ups that explain exactly why people choose to get their news from sources other than the MSM.

NBC plans to create the news. Michelle Malkin reports on an e-mail she received which shows that NBC is looking to create a story. Dateline wants to video tape muslim men as they attend sporting events, such as a NASCAR race, to document the reaction of those around them.

Nice. NBC's and Dateline's objective journalists seem to think there are a lot of bigots at NASCAR races and are expecting to hit pay dirt with examples of anti-Muslim, anti-Arab behavior.

Apparently Reuters bought into the terrorists' claims that they shot down a US helicopter. Al Jazeera played the terrorists' video of the wreckage, which Reuters then reported. There's one problem. The video was imprinted with the year 2000. Could it be simply the incorrect time programmed into the camera? Possibly. Could it be the terrorists are lying? More likely.

Delay Quits, Pelosi Cries

(WASHINGTON) "Former House Majority Leader Tom Delay announced today that he won’t seek re-election and will soon resign from Congress. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called the news “devastating” and immediately introduced a bill to block Delay’s departure. The California Democrat, in an emotional news conference, said, “Tom Delay is essential to the future of this nation, since all of our Democrat Congressional campaign ads are built around him. He must not be allowed to leave until after the elections.”"

Peolosi then proceeded to call the Rev. Al Sharpton and plead with him to begin to get on the campaign trail and drum up support for Democratic candidates across the country. "With DeLay out of the picture, we need to sway the moderate vote to your point of view" she said. Rev. Sharpton was not available for comment. Apperently he was in Texas urging "God fearing Republicans" to vote for a Rainbow Coalition candidate in the upcoming local elections. Way to go Rev. Al, the Republican right is counting on you !!

Chinese Bikini Features Iranian Flag

(BEIJING) "Chinese models wear bikinis with the World Cup soccer designs on during a swimsuit design contest as part of the China Fashion Week in Beijing, China, Saturday, April 1, 2006. A week long fashion extravaganza to showcase local and foreign talents ends Sunday. (AP Photo/Ng Han Guan)"

Look carefully and you will see the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran featured prominently on the left breast of the model in the 2nd row towards the center of the picture. Hmmm... I wonder if she has taken out extra life insurance and has a kevlar vest to wear as a cover up when she is off stage??

Iran Tests High Speed Torpedo

(TEHRAN) Iran - Iran conducted its second major test of a new missile within days on Sunday, firing a high-speed torpedo it said no submarine or warship can escape at a time of increased tensions with the U.S. over its nuclear program.

The tests came during war games that Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards have been holding in the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea since Friday.

On the maneuvers' first day, Iran said it successfully tested the Fajr-3 missile, which can avoid radar and hit several targets simultaneously using multiple warheads.

The new torpedo, called the 'Hoot,' or 'whale,' could raise concerns over Iran's power in the Gulf, a vital corridor for the world's oil supplies and where the
U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet is based. During Iran's war with
Iraq in the 1980s, Iranian ships attacked oil tankers in the Gulf, and Iran and the U.S. military engaged in limited clashes.

Iran's state television stopped its normal programs to break news of the torpedo test, showing it being launched from a ship into the Gulf waters, then hitting its target, a derelict ship.

Gen. Ali Fadavi, deputy head of the Revolutionary Guards' navy, said the ships that fire the Iranian-made Hoot had radar-evading technology and that the torpedo — moving at 223 miles per hour — was too fast to elude.

'It has a very powerful warhead designed to hit big submarines. Even if enemy warship sensors identify the missile, no warship can escape from this missile because of its high speed,' Fadavi told state television." More...

No doubt the Russians have contributed to this state of affairs...

Hamas and Fatah Begin to Kill Each Other

(PALESTINE) "Gunmen linked to the Fatah party of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas have paraded through Gaza City, defying a ban on displays of force.

The Hamas-led government told militant groups to stay off the streets after three died in violence on Friday.

About 300 Fatah gunmen fired into the air and called for new Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh to arrest the leader of a rival group blamed for the fighting.

Friday's fighting began when a car bomb killed a member of the rival group.

The Popular Resistance Committee (PRC) accused Mr Abbas of conspiring with Israel to kill Khalil al-Quqa." More...

Oh... if it could only be this easy. Maybe the world will get lucky and they will both wipe themselves of the "face of the map", to use the words of the dysfunctional Iranian president.

NYC Coyote Dies in Captivity, Officials Fear Riots

(NEW YORK) — Game wardens from Maine to Pennsylvania issued a Code Red warning today in advance of possible unrest among wild coyotes in the wake of the mysterious death-in-captivity of Hal, a coyote (caninus roaminus impetuous) captured recently by New York City police.

Held in isolation from other coyotes at a now-infamous Department of Environmental Conservation detention facility in Putnam County, Hal died with his legs “restrained” and his snout “muzzled like a dog” as Cornell University researchers attempted to “tag” him before his release.

The New York Times has filed a Freedom of Information Act request demanding that the government hand over images that might show evidence of humiliation and discomfort, if not outright abuse.

Authorities refused the Times’ initial request to release the photos, “out of respect for the family of the deceased,” officials said.

“Even though we did everything according to protocol,” said an unnamed conservation agent, “we’re concerned about the reaction on the so-called ‘coyote street’ if they should see one of their own bound and gagged and about to be tagged.”

In coyote culture, being restrained or caged is considered degrading and humiliating, and the ‘Law of the Pack’ mandates death for the perpetrators.

Ingrid Newkirk, founder of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), has offered to pay for an attorney to file a lawsuit on behalf of the family.

“Hal was guilty of nothing more than loping-while-canine in Central Park,” Ms. Newkirk said, “but his captors and killers are guilty of invading and occupying land that belonged to Hal’s ancestors for thousands of years.”" -- Scott Ott / ScrappleFace
