Nancy Pelosi in Tears !

By Zardoz Z. Bachman

During an interview with Tim Russert on Meet the Press, the head of the House Democrats Nancy Pelosi was in tears after Tim Russert pointed out that her draconian remarks are bordering on hatred for the President and in fact putting American lives at risk. When he confronting her with remarks from Senator Tom Delay(R), who very pointedly criticised Sen. Pelosi for making comments to undermine the President's authority as Commander in Chief in front of the troops -- her tear ducts began to emit copius ammounts of moisture. At one point, Pelosi took out a hankie and dried them, recognizing, perhaps, that her remarks may indeed have been over the top and in fact potentially giving moral support to the enemy. At the very least it made the viewer wonder just how far this deep hatred lies for the President by the Minority leader. The display of emotionalism does nothing to inspire strength from the Democratic side of the aisle. Making one ask about the motivations behind such leadership. What would they have done differently when we were held hostage by the US Security Council given the information at hand at the time on WMD from MULTIPLE national intelligence agencies.

The Democrats are going down a slippery slop here. Their anti-war rhetoric on the left does not wash with Kerry's NON STANCE on Iraq which is fundamentally no different than that of the President. What specifically would he be doing differently if indeed he does not believe in pulling out ? He has NOT committed to pulling out, or providing a deadline for pulling out. How is this different to the President's policy and strategy?

Pelosi's display indicates the undercurrent level of weakness being projected by the left in the Democratic party. This hurts them. Does mainstream America really want that level of emotionalism during a conflict? The party of "cut and run" is how they are beginning to be branded. The yellow party. Kerry is in a box. There does not seem to be any clear plan from the democrats except to BASH BUSH at all costs as though somehow this will cause Republicans and Independents to vote Democratic ! What shallow thinking.

Al Gore -- is antoher prime example. Going on a Dean like rant, openly criticizing the leadership and the entire administration this past week in an effort to energize the left side of the party and inject some emotion in the so far boring campaign for the Democrats, ala Kerry's persona. Talk about giving terrorists a reason to rally! The Gore speech was a text book case of it. This would have been unheard of from a former senator during WWII in the 40's ! What happened to America's nationalism and support for their President in a time of national attack? The islamic terrorists MUST feel that they are getting traction on the psychological warfront here in the states. Raising the spector that perhaps a signficant act over the summer will help tip it over the edege as it did in Spain to support their agenda. The current rhetoric on the part of democrats are putting us ALL at risk ! Indirectly increasing the likely hood for a another tragedy as the enemy now sees the door opening in American resolve as open criticism of the President from top ranking congressional leaders increases. Fueling hope that Bush will be gone in November and achieving a moral victory over the U.S. Will they be right ? Or will Americans support each other, democrats and republicans and get behind our current leadserhip as we did in the early months after 9/11 BEFORE party politics reared it's ugly head? Time will tell. Let's stop playing into the hands of the enemy. Work quitely behind the scenes with the President. In my opinion, remarks from high government officials which give comfort and aid to the enemy, are unnacceptable from a minority leader in a time of conflict. If anyone should resign it should be Nancy Pelosi - zzb

Kerry: More Troops Would Protect Enemies from Abuse

ScrappleFace: Kerry: More Troops Would Protect Enemies from Abuse: "2004-05-28) -- Democrat presidential hopeful John Forbes Kerry today promised to add 20,000 more Military Police to the U.S. force to help protect enemy prisoners from abuse by existing troops, and another 20,000 to protect American civil rights at home.
'We have enough troops assigned to killing the enemy,' said Mr. Kerry, 'but there's a yawning dearth of troops to keep an eye on the troops, and to watch ordinary Americans at home to make sure they have enough civil rights. If elected, I will station troops overseas to monitor our soldiers, and soldiers on the streets of major American cities to enforce human rights.'
Mr. Kerry conceded that, eventually, even more troops would be needed to monitor the behavior of the MPs and stateside 'street monitors'.
'If we're going to occupy cities like Baghdad, Najaf, Boston or Kansas City,' he said, 'we need to ensure that we're adhering to the highest ethical standards to avoid a repeat of my experience committing atrocities in Vietnam.'" - Scrapple Face

Kerry is really reaching here. Left wing democrats want us to cut and run out of Iraq. Kerry however wants to add more troops... TO PROTECT IRAQI PRISIONERS from our soldiers !! He wants to add soldiers to watch other over our soldiers and protect prisoners ? --- How about adding more troops to kill the enemy ?? His logic is disgusting !! To say this on a day we dedicate a memorial to WWII veterans ! It is like slapping the military across the face ! What are your thoughts? - zzb

Kerry Flips Again !

My Way News: "WASHINGTON (AP) - Bowing to pressure, John Kerry decided Wednesday to accept the nomination at the Democratic presidential convention in July, scuttling a plan to delay the formality so he could narrow President Bush's public money advantage.
He turned quickly to his backup plan, issuing a statement with a blunt appeal for campaign donations that could go to national and state party organizations."

Here is a guy that clearly blows with the wind. This article is a real time example of the kind of leader he will be. He is running on a "vote for me I am not George Bush" strategy. Will that really work ? What new ideas does Kerry present to the country ? Any one know ??

HoustonChronicle.com - Despite bike spill, Bush celebrates with daughter

HoustonChronicle.com - Despite bike spill, Bush celebrates with daughter: "AUSTIN -- President Bush, slightly injured after a mountain bike mishap at his Crawford ranch, had dinner Saturday night in Austin to celebrate daughter Jenna's graduation from the University of Texas.
Bush was riding his bicycle downhill near the end of a 17-mile ride when he fell off, suffering abrasions to his face, right hand and both knees, according to spokesman Trent Duffy.
Bush was wearing a bike helmet " - Houston Chronicle

This will not be the only spill the President is likely to take this year. If the situation in Iraq does not stabilize by August, he will have fallen right out of office. If the Iraqi situation does stabilize, and he deals with the so called prisoner "abuses" quickly and fairly, GW and the republican party will make it through. Much depends on what image Kerry can conjure up for himself given the economy is growing. Mr. President, better keep the helmet and shin guards on ! Main Street media will be his biggest adversary. --zzb

Schwarz Cough

Yahoo! News - EBay Pulls Schwarzenegger's Cough Drop
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A seller on eBay tried to auction off a cough drop that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (news) allegedly used, then tossed into a trash can — listing the item under the heading "Schwarzenegger's DNA."

But the ad posted on the popular Web site Friday was quickly yanked after eBay decided it fell into the category of "body parts," which the Web site will not list for sale. -- AP

Does it get any stranger than this ?? This story actually hit the news wire today. Now we know without a doubt eBay, the village cyber"bizzare", is here to stay ! - zzb

Sopranos Lullaby

The series is beginning to put me to sleep. Yes, I understand that this is more or less a lame duck season, but this is a bit ridiculous.  Almost 45 min of a dream episode ?  Enough with the psycho-babble. What about the story? Why is it I get the feeling that the plot this season is all but maybe 4 episodes and the producers plan to stretch it out to the bitter end.  Tony.  Wake up !  Please. Your killing me !  - zzb

A Rumor to Watch... Syria / North Korea / WMD ?

By Zardoz Z. Bachman

There is some speculation that the North Korean train explosion a few weeks ago had more to it than meets the eye. During one of the morning news shows this Sunday 5/16/04, a correspondent said that some sources indicate that Syrian government agents were aboard that train. Curiously the North Korean army responded in "chemical and bio-hazard" suits to one section of the derailed train. According to that reporter, there are un-confirmed reports that warheads might have been on board that train for destinations unknown when the accident occurred. The war heads were allegedly capable of delivering chemical or biological payloads.

It was also implied that Syrian involvement may be linked to the WMD rumored movements from Iraq to Syria weeks before the Iraq war began. One may recall some accounts that truck convoys were being monitored by US intelligence agencies during the weeks leading up the present conflict.

Draw your own conclusions. Especially if these rumors have any validity. If this is indeed the case... we need to wrap up Iraq and start drawing up plans with Israel to deal with their neighbor. We have not seen or heard anything further, yet this source revealed that this story was unfolding as something being investigated from "reliable sources". So don't read too much into it. One must wonder however about Colin Powell's presence in the area today in Jordan. Could it be possible that there really are links to Syria between these incidents ? Could it only be coincidence ? Is something brewing that may be leaked to mainstream media in the coming days ?...

Next Stop Belmont !

No Doubt this horse has the stuff champions are made of. History in the making as Smarty Jones looks very strong to be the sure odds on favorite to be the first Triple Crown winner in this century !

The Belmont won't be a push over, but given the fact the this horse pulled away from the field like he did it appears very likely, barring some last minute unknown entry, that Jonesy boy will be wearing a crown in 3 weeks. This horse ran in the final stretch like he had afterburners switched on... the rest of the field looked like they were a sorry lot.

Smarty Jones Nails the Preakness !

By Zardoz Z. Bachman

What a horse... a few moments ago Smarty Jones blew the field away. There was never any doubt. This is horse racing history in the making. No one else in the field was even close ! The Triple Crown at Belmont looks like a snap for this horse. No horse since Seattle Slew has run this strong and has been so dominant.

The real story is that the horse was raised in the Philadelphia area. Running a Philadelphia a park. A poor man's race track. Small and unknown. This horse may be a legend in the making, not unlike Seabiscuit, even right up to it's accross the other side of town heritage. No BIG MONEY behind this horse . Way to go !!

Go for it "Smarty"...

The entire Delaware Valley will be pulling for "Smarty Jones" in the Preakness on Saturday. In the spirit of, and in the showdow of the recent film SeaBiscuit, this is a true "from the other side of the tracks" sentimental favorite. Who in the Pensylvania area is NOT pulling for this horse to win ?

This horse is un-defeated... and is already starting to make history. The question is can he run in the shadow of Seattle Slew who pulled off the triple crown without ever loosing a race before receiving it ! It will be very interesting to see what happens.
Smarty Jones primed for `toughest race'

"I think this is the toughest race he's had," Smarty Jones trainer John Servis said. "To come out of the biggest race of his life and run in just two weeks against the same horses is difficult enough. Then you throw in the three or four fresh horses and kind of put the bull's-eye on our back, I think he's going to have to step his game up."- John Servis

Yahoo! News - Berg Died for Bush, Rumsfeld 'Sins' - Father

Yahoo! News - Berg Died for Bush, Rumsfeld 'Sins' - Father: "'My son died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld. This administration did this,' Berg said in an interview with radio station KYW-AM two days after a video showing the execution of his son was shown on an Islamist Web site.
In the interview from outside his home in West Chester, Pennsylvania, a seething Michael Berg also said his 26-year-old son, a civilian contractor, probably would have felt positive, even about his executioners, until the last minute"

Well here it is. I said someone would accuse President Bush of causing the death of this innocent man. I know how this father must feel. What was his son doing there, and how on earth can you blame the President for this ? This is a far cry from prisoner abuse... this is MURDER ! What is wrong with people? Don't go to Iraq if you are afraid of being killed if you are an American !! It's that simple. And if you go.. out of humanitarian reasons and you are killed... don't blame the President. This is a risk you were willing to take ! Unless you were a soldier and had no legal choice, you should have understood the risks. You can be murdered in any city in the world. This was murder for political purpose AKA Terrorism. - zzb

Britsh Newspaper Forges Abuses

The New York Times > International > Europe > Parliament: Britain Says Photos Showing Abuse Are Fake: "'The truck in which the photographs were taken was never in Iraq,' Adam Ingram, the armed forces minister, told Parliament. 'Those pictures were categorically not taken in Iraq.'
Declining to give further details in a continuing investigation, he told lawmakers, 'this is not only the opinion of the Special Investigations branch' of the British military, but that it also had been 'independently corroborated.'
There were immediate calls in Parliament for Piers Morgan, the editor of The Daily Mirror, to resign and for the paper to publish a front-page apology. Mr. Ingram said 'those involved' in faking the photos 'may have committed criminal offenses under military laws.'
'It's an absolute disgrace that The Daily Mirror, in order to further its own political line and to damage the prime minister, has been prepared to besmirch the name of the Queen's Lancashire Regiment,' said David Barrow, a member of Prime Minister Tony Blair's Labor Party. "

No Remorse

Muslim American Society
The White House vowed the United States would hunt down those who carried out Berg’s beheading.

"It shows the true nature of the enemies of freedom," spokesman Scott McClellan said. "They have no regard for the lives of innocent men, women and children. We will pursue those who are responsible and bring them to justice."

U.S. lawmakers demanded the Arab world condemn the killing of the American civilian as strongly as they had condemned abuse of prisoners by U.S. troops at Baghdad's Abu Ghraib jail.

"I am eagerly awaiting public apologies and condemnation from leaders in the Arab world expressing their own personal outrage at the barbaric murder of Nick Berg, an innocent civilian," said Representative Tom Tancredo of Colorado.

Where are the Islamic Religious Leaders.. Silently Rejoicing ?

By Zardoz Z. Bachman

Isn't it interesting that not ONE Middle Eastern leader from an Islamic nation has come out publicly in condemnation of the beheading of an innocent non combatant !! Did anyone hear from any Imams lately repudiating this act ? Yet our media and the media from other nations wants to see our President prostate in from of TV camera's begging forgiveness for "abusive" treatment of prisoners. What would you call a beheading ? Justifiable in the minds of American journalists because it is a reaction to those images? Next thing we will hear is that President Bush CAUSED this beheading. How stupid can people be. We are falling right into the hands of terrorists and encouraging it by showing weakness. Where is the outrage from the so called Friendly Arab nations in the Middle East. What about hearing some condemnation from the so called Islamic holy men ?

What will it take for the American people to see through this hang the government first media we have. !! Don't see any shots of kindness from our soldiers... why that would not drive the agenda of debasing America first in everything they print. The NY Times is an outrage. - zzb

Mr. Nader the Instigator...

This guy is driving John Kerry nuts ! He has a pretty odd sense of reality... More comments in yesterday's posting.

Wonder where he get's his bright ideas from ? Could it be he was un-loved as a child ? Maybe had a bad accident on his first pedal car when he was a kid and vowed to get back at Detroit. A life long crusade... always taking shots at big business. Next time you get the flu or come down with bronchitis or pneumonia Ralphie boy be sure to thank the resarchers at the big Pharma companies for your anti-biotics. !

More Bad News for Kerry ??

By Zardoz Z. Bachman

Ralph Nader is like a bad dream for the Kerry campaign. He won't go away. Mr. Nader spent several minutes speaking with Maria Bartiromo on CNBC this evening explaining how he is going to take votes away from Bush instead of John Kerry. The funny thing is, he really believes this! His argument goes something like this. Republicans are upset with the President. They may not vote for Kerry because they won't vote for a Democrat, so they will vote for Ralph Nader as he is more independent. This will hurt GW and allow Kerry the victory. He also is convinced the vast majority of independents will vote for him if he gets on their state's ballot. "Help" like this John Kerry doesn't need. It's pretty funny when you think about it. I do wonder where this guy gets the money to run these campaigns ? Sierra Club ? PETA ?

I have news for Mr. Nader... most Republicans would still vote for President Bush rather than vote for either him or John Kerry ! What are your thoughts ?

New Morse Code Symbol "@"

==>NEW MORSE "@" CHARACTER BECOMES OFFICIAL MAY 3

The International Morse code officially gains a new character on May 3.
That's when the now-familiar "@" symbol joins the Morse lexicon as the
letters "AC" run together (.--.-.). Known as the "commercial at" or
"commat," the @ symbol never rose to the level of usage that demanded a
unique Morse character until it gained currency as a critical component of
e-mail addresses during the past decade or so.

Last December, the International Telecommunication Union
Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) Study Group 8 agreed on the wording of a
Draft New Recommendation ITU-R M.[MORSE] that specified the international
Morse code character set and transmission procedures and included the new
Morse code character.

The pending change has attracted some attentioNn in the media, including
mentions on National Public Radio's All Things Considered and in The New
York Times.

It took the ITU ten years to recognize the increased status of the "@" symbol and actually create a Morse Code sequence of dots and dashes for it ! Now you can sleep better at night knowing the internet must be here to stay since the ITU waited 10 years just to be sure it was for real ! -- zzb
